Gosh, this year has been a doozy.. am I right? 2020 has turned out to be full of adventures, unforeseen plot twists, and some disappointment. As far as narratives go, this one has been a little on the tangential side.
The bright side of 2020 has brought me here: BeachieSpeechies. After dabbling in blogging for fun about my happy place, Disney, for a few years my co-worker convinced me that we needed to expand our work horizons and share our love of speech, language, and literacy with all of you. We also might share some weekend adventures and things we love along the way.
Ciara introduced me to Boomlearning.com. What a wonderful platform to make fun and engaging games for our therapy kiddos. I am sure like most of you I would have never thought about being thrust into the world of teletherapy with little to no training. Boom Cards have been so fun to use via teletherapy and in person.
Although I have been in the field of Speech-Language Pathology for over a decade, I am new to sharing and searching out ideas through social media. What a great way to keep ideas fresh and lean about new techniques from others. You of course already knew this or you wouldn’t be reading this!
With this blog, I am hopeful we can share some new ideas with you. Some brand new, and some old favorites with a twist. I am also hoping to find a great network of speechies here that we can also learn from.
Hopefully we can get this year back on track with no more climatic events or problems to solve. Thanks for joing us on our brand new digital adventure.
